Free No Bullshit Movie Converter converting H.265 to H.264

Finally a Free No Bullshit Movie Converter converting H.265 to H.264

I have been looking for an application to do this, since neither a Sony TV, WDTV Live or an iPad can play H.265 videos. The WDTV Live never will because it’s not got the processor power.

So then I found RockyMountains Movie Converter – It converts H.265 movie file into other codec. Exactly what I wanted. Thanks to the developer!

A short description:

This converter takes H.265 movie file and encodes to another codec, such as H.264 and ProRes.

My review:

This is a great program, it works perfect so far.

I’ve been processing 44 of 108 files without any issue.

The only things that would make this converter perfects is:

  1. Allowing MKV as input without renaming to MP4 first
  2. Allow overwriting the source files in their source directory
  3. Don’t output with a new filename the includes ‘ULTRAFAST’ etc.

Apart from this, this is a superb piece of software and most of all, it’s easy to use, free and without the bullshit you get with a lot of other downloadable ‘free’ apps.

This one really is free and once having renamed the files, it worked perfect!
