About our Maya Speed Calculation MEL Script
I developed a neat, working Maya Speed Calculation MEL script that calculates the speed in miles per hour (mph) for any animated object in a scene. The script is executed automatically for each frame; either stepping frame by frame or by playing back normally in the timeline. The script is ~ 90 lines of code; and also uses one expression.
The script can be used for example to measure the speed of a vehicle like a car or other object moving. This is very useful if you wanted to be able to render the speed of an object anywhere in your scene. The output is done for each frame in the Script Editor, formatted like this:
…
84 mph
80 mph
69 mph
50 mph
…
This can then be used as the source for rendering speed values in your renders. Contact me via the contact page or email: hello@sundstedt.se if you are interested in purchasing this script.
Discount available for students. Single user only. Script is delivered as-is via email & comes with sample Maya project file and a basic installation guide!
