Add Windows Live Calendar & Google Calendar events with each other

Google Calendar events in Windows Live Calendar:

  1. In Google Calendar, Select Settings then Calendars.
  2. Click on your Google calendars name.
  3. In Private Address area, click ICAL icon.
  4. Copy this URL address but replace “https:” with “http:” for it to work.
  5. In Windows Live Hotmail, select Calendar.
  6. Click Subscribe -> subscribe to a public calendar.
  7. Paste in the Calendar URL from Google (see step 4).
  8. Select a nice color and click Subscribe to calendar.

Next, Windows Live Calendar events in Google Calendar:

  1. In Windows Live Calendar, select Share -> (the name of your calendar.)
  2. Select Share this calendar option.
  3. Tick share your calendar privately with friends and family.
  4. Tick Send people a view-only link to your calendar.
  5. Click on ICS: Import into another calendar application.
  6.  Copy the ICS links address URL. (webcals://cid-… etc.)
  7. replace the “webcals://” with “http://” in the URL you copied.
  8. In Google Calendar, select Other Calendars->Add by URL.
  9. Paste in the URL as edited in step 7 above.
  10. Click Add Calendar.

Done!

(Please note that while they can view each others calendars, you cannot delete the Windows Live Calendar item in Google.)
