Environmental Policy
At Sundstedt Animation, we believe that creating exceptional animation should never come at the expense of the environment. As a solo, fully remote studio, sustainability is central to how we operate—from our workflows to our energy use.
This policy outlines our commitment to reducing environmental impact through energy efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible digital practices.
Remote and Low-Impact Studio
• Operating exclusively from a dedicated, energy-efficient workspace, eliminating commuting, business travel, and the need for physical office premises.
• Avoiding car ownership and driving; all client communications and meetings are conducted remotely.
• Utilizing smart energy management systems to minimize heating and lighting consumption.
• Employing smart LED lighting programmed to optimize energy use by dimming or switching off automatically when not needed.
Energy and Equipment Efficiency
• Shutting down all equipment overnight to conserve energy.
• Using devices with energy-saving settings, including reduced screen brightness.
• Maintaining long-lasting equipment to minimize electronic waste by avoiding premature upgrades.
• Balancing use of a modern laptop with a high-performance PC that remains reliable after several years.
100% Digital Workflow
• Conducting all contracts, invoicing, and file exchanges digitally.
• Compressing and optimizing animation files to reduce data usage.
• Designing a fast, lightweight website and portfolio to lower web-related energy consumption.
• Avoiding printed materials, physical mailings, and any form of packaging or promotional collateral.
Waste Reduction and Responsible Consumption
• Recycling and responsibly disposing of electronics and outdated equipment.
• Limiting purchases to essentials and reusing packaging wherever possible.
• Restricting deliveries strictly to work-related items; maintaining a paperless and packaging-free business model.
Environmentally Focused Projects
We actively seek and support projects that advance sustainability, education, or public benefit. Recent collaborations include:
• Eco-Schools: Animated content supporting environmental education.
• Glasgow City Council: Campaign promoting active, sustainable school travel.
• Panda Ebikes: Promotional video for clean electric transportation.
Continuous Improvement
As a small and agile studio, we prioritize ongoing efforts to minimize our environmental footprint. We welcome opportunities to partner with clients who share a commitment to sustainability and to use animation as a tool for positive impact.
If your project has an environmental or social mission, please get in touch—we’d love to collaborate.
