On the Work Area: Just set the Work Area start and end areas to the part you’d like to save out.

Press “b” on the keyboard to set the work area start to the current frame, then “n” to set the out-point. You can do this before or after you’ve created the RAM preview. You can also interactively drag the in and out points of the work area in the Composition panel.

Note that this also works when you’re adding things to the regular render queue. It will default to rendering whatever you’ve set your work area to.
