Today I have worked out how to do a free camera tracking and later integrate this with a CG object simulation. I rendered out shadows as separate render pass and composited making some adjustments and adding matching noise to CG layers.

hej
this was in houdini right_
by free do you mean moving it manually frame by frame?
or which free 3d tracker did you use? old icarus?
we have the same blue chair

yes this was in houdini. now I need to check what tracking software I used for this test I did as a way of learning tracking; but by free I think I meant it was done ‘without placing any markers’ in the scene I think (and not having any measurements of the location etc.) I was probably reading the manual of the tracking software where they likely referred to it as ‘free tracking’, if I remember correctly.
I need to take that up again and become better at tracking and CG integration I find it very interesting; especially for using with houdini 10 apprentice.
It was amazing to know about the 3D Tracking and CG integration test. All these kind of development have simplified our lifestyle.
